Here's February!

Hey all, I thought I'd let my community know how excited I am for the next month (a shorter one!). I had an amazing January - personally AND professionally.

With some great work trips, some very nice days at home, and a lot of learning going on, I'd say '06 is off to a great start.

Here's the log...how did you do?

Who can you call?

I owe a lot to my friends. The ones who call or e-mail to see how I'm doing. The ones I can call or e-mail to "remind them" it's time to get moving. I first decided to change my own health and fitness some 5 1/2 years ago...

Did anyone else participate (encourage, suggest or prod) in you getting going on your own wellness program?

The "Productivity" game

I posted this essay on the davidco Coach's Corner site. In thinking about "where you are, when you are," what might you change so tomorrow shows up the way you want?

Getting there

Physical activity, like running, gives me the foundation I need to stay focused on my goals. Putting one foot in front of the other is a great metaphor for the writer. Writing one word, and then another, and then another is a great way to keep going.

Compiling information

Getting in shape can seem like a pretty tough project.

What do you do?

How much should you work out?

Where do you start?

Which program is the best?

What did you have for breakfast today?

I am convinced I perform better (all around: as a person, as an athlete, as a worker...) when I eat breakfast. On the road as much as I am, I always scope out the meal that breaks my evening fast...and, here's an article I'm taking to heart.

Do you buy into your billboard?

(1)     Where are you?, and (2) Where are you going?

Taking a few moments to answer these questions will give you the information you need to make the best decisions and maintain direction towards your wellness goals.

It's working!

"Thanks JW,

Immersing myself in activities like this generates positive feelings for myself and my family. Great exercise!"

This note was in my e-mail inbox recently. Thank you, thank you for sending it!

What does this mean? It means, that this incredible program that's worked so well for me for the past few years IS WORKING for other people as well! Keep up the great work, and, thank you for sharing your wins.

Sausalito, CA

Well, we made news in Sausalito! (Great city to visit, if you ever get the chance...)

A 2-minute reflection

I recently joined the Spiritual Cinema Circle. In addition to a long queue of biographies and documentaries coming from Netflix, I was looking for something with heart, something with soul, something to make me think. After one month of membership, 3 short films, and one feature length documentary about Mardy Murie, I am hooked!

Here's a 2-minute reflective process I encourage you to experience. Before you click and start the movie, grab some paper and a pen...and write down what comes to mind as you go through the process.
