Link: The White Space.
I think our life is just like a Chinese painting. In order to have balance and inner peace, you need sufficient "white space". Look at your own life now, how much "white space" do you have? Is your "life painting" overly cluttered and there's no breathing room left?
I've found immense value in creating blocks of uninterrupted time. Not just to get things done (although I'll tell ya, nothin' helps me in writing an article like being alone at a desk without an Internet connection for an hour or so!), but to read, meditate, stretch, or talk with someone.
Looking around, have you had any "in-between-the-lines" time lately? And, if so, what are you doing to make them happen again?
I'd love to collect any short stories or examples of how you do it. Please let me know! (You can comment here, or e-mail me directly...)

I had a Chinese teacher before – laosher as we what we usually call him and any of his friends – who would always say that a very nice aura of someone is that one which shows a white cloth. It means purity, air, as well as balanced life. However, on the bad side, it means it also means boredom. In relation to what you have quoted here, a very white life is boring. One must add some colors to it in order to make it less boring. But black shades are considered to be taboo! As much as possible they should be avoided.
