Long Island Greenbelt Trail 50k - AWEsome!

A friend of mine who lives in White Plains, NY ran in the Long Island Greenbelt Trail 50k last weekend. He ran 31.69 miles in UNDER 6 hours and 45 minutes! A - - MAZING!

I still don't know how he does it, I mean with triathlon I get three events, I get to sit on a bike, and I have the mental note that "this event will be over soon!" That he went out and ran for over 6 and a half hours is inspiring.

Many people reading this won't take up ultra-distance running as a "hobby." But, if you're reading this and have even a bit of interest in participating in an event, look around and find a 5K run (3.1 mile) or walk you could enter. I have a feeling if you sign up for that event you'll notice some subtle (and positive) changes occur regarding your health, fitness, nutrition. Just consider it... (go to a search engine on the Internet and type in the name of your city and "5K").
