I attended a lecture by Gregg Maryniak at Singularity University. He encouraged me to "re-think" energy buildup, storage and use.
1. At the end of the day, end the day. Actually stop, at SOME point before you go to sleep, and look back on that day. Informal at least, run an assessment asking yourself questions like:
- how did I do today?
- what did I do today?
- who did I spend time with today?
- who helped me today?
2. Futurecast. Here's the question (and you've heard it before) I ask: "What two or three things are the Most Important ones for tomorrow?" This does at least a few things:
- let's me know WHAT I need energy for
- gives me an opportunity to visualize what engagement might look like
- (this happens, from time to time) makes me re-negotiate what I "thought" I would do at night, to get READY for a high performance day tomorrow
