3 Dimensional Wealth by Monroe Diefendorf and Robert Madden...
Being a FitAndEffective guy, I realize it's not all about "physical" fitness. Years ago, while working with an Investment Bank in New York, I spoke on my expertise in potential and performance.
A managing director I worked with said, "You know, we're a lot alike; it's just that I'm focused on "fiscal" fitness." We went on to discuss that if you were fit - physically, fiscally, mentally, etc. - it made the everyday engagement in life and work easier and more rewarding.
That conversation had a lasting impact.
I began to look for (and find) examples of FITNESS outside of the traditional meaning some people focus on, such as physical and mental fitness. Years later, I met Roey Diefendorf. In fact, we shared magazine space in a journal called Personal Excellence. Later on, we did an interview/conversation together, which you can listen to here.
We connected via e-mail, and have stayed in touch since late 2006. He sent me a copy of his book. I recommend several of the activities and exercises he provides there. Anything that gets me thinking multi-dimensionally is worth the time!
Looking at the concept of "wealth" is a lot like looking at the concept of "fitness." We're not just fit when we drink 8 glasses of water, exercise for 30 minutes and watch our diet every day.
If/when you do get a copy of 3 Dimensional Wealth, jump over to chapter 10. I think it's worthwhile to consider all the dimensions, as you line up with your goals and visions.
(Thanks, Roey, for a great read...)
Erik,
Thanks so much for reading! I had a great time talking with Roey. And, I'm scheduled for two more interviews this month (with other folks) so stay tuned!
