If you are looking to make changes and improve the way you work, you’ll need to experience it mentally first. Amend your perceptions, which include your beliefs and your self-talk, and you’ll notice a change occurs.
1. Start by identifying one area of your life (career, family, learning, finances, etc.) that you want to enhance. Pick one that has some “juice” for you, one that you know if you changed, your life would be a little bit better. Begin with a list of the things that frustrate you, or maybe even bring you down.
One client I worked with identified career as the area he wanted to improve. An employee of a large financial firm, he had heard of another colleague who had advanced in responsibility (meaning more pay and benefits) when he increased his knowledge base and skill sets via attending courses and studying materials in their field.
