Are you waiting until “then” to make the change you wish you were experiencing “now?” What’s out THERE that you’d like to make different? And, most importantly, what’s right HERE you can work with in order to make progress toward that outcome?
I met with my wellness coach - Andrea - in New York City today. The workout was an hour long; a restorative session, just what I needed on a Friday. But, more than that, I went to this workout as part of my “research” for Get Momentum members worldwide!
Next month at www.TimeToGetMomentum.com we’re studying the topic of “Leadership and Wellness.” (Click here to see that theme, and review all 12 Leadership Skills you learn and practice in the Get Momentum Coaching Program.)
Now, I gotta tell you, Andrea is one of the smartest, most amazing leaders I know. Throughout the session, she’d place an encouraging word at just the right place. If there was something she saw that needed to be adjusted, she quietly walked over and helped each one of us. Toward the end of the session, I heard her say: “For those of you who are already on to your next things in your mind, come back to the present. Come back to me. Come back to this room."
Woah. Busted!
Have you ever had to “come back to where you were?"
There I had been, taking a mental vacation from my workout. You see, I was right there physically, but my mind was a million miles away. I was off worrying about/planning something that is coming my way; even if it’s not.
Tell me, have you ever been there? Have you found yourself “away from the present, focused on what isn’t?"
I know the people I work with spend a lot of time thinking about (and taking about) what may OR may not happen. Now, I’m not going to say “stop it.” We can’t. We naturally think of things that are “out there.” What I am suggesting is...
Catch yourself doing it. And then change the direction, duration and destination of that thinking.
Have you ever thought about CHANGING what you believe is possible? I have; and, I wrote about it over here. Instead of giving up, or giving in, simply notice you’re off-topic, and come right back. I’m telling you it’s possible to have, be and do more, if you’ll use the power of your mind, and the facts about time, to your advantage.
I’m here to share my version of reality with you: “It could be different."
There are 5 ways I know of to build a mindset, find the environment, and build the habits you’re going to need to:
- See it
- Believe it
- Achieve it
You can read (and) watch all about those 5 things to do right here.
I wrote a note for you, linked to a video, and got you some pages from the book. I hope you enjoy!
