I met a mentor for a 15-minute chat last week in Madison Park, New York City. When we stood up, and began to bid our adieu to one another, I caught this plaque out of the corner of my eye:

It lead me to consider, as I walked an extra two subway stops to force myself to slow down and think, the "couple of lines" I give myself...now.
When someone says, "What do you do?" how do you answer? What images play in your mind? What story do you tell? Sure, that question is a means of categorizing one another; how else will we know if we want to continue talking with that person we just met? But, is it the best question to ask?
I think about my friends, my family, the clients and all the Get Momentum Academy members around the world we serve every day, and I ask myself "If I only have a little more time, what is it will do?"
The next question I ask then is, "What do I have to learn in order to do that?"
Bottom line: I think Eve and I would have gotten along.
