For 5 years now, I've been meeting my little sister in New York City to watch the Yankees play baseball. Why would a small town girl and guy, who grew up in Lagunitas, California, fly all the way to the Big Apple to watch baseball? And, why THIS year are we flying all over to watch the Yankees play?
It's a good - but personal - question.
Let's move on to what we did last week, and more importantly what it's like spending that much time with someone I only get to see a few days each year...

Wednesday morning, I woke up at/on Maxwell Air Force Base and facilitated a course I teach at Air University called: "Leaders By Design." The class started at 0900 and ended at 1130. I drove straight to the airport for my #AmericanAir flight, 80 minutes later I was en route to Phoenix, via DFW Airport.

Wednesday evening, I met my sis in Phoenix and we went straight to #Chase field to watch the #Yankees and the #Diamondbacks play. (Side note, we sat in suite seats, with former high school students that were in my US History and Spanish classes almost 20 years ago!!!)

Thursday morning, we started our trip to #Oakland... We had a 7:05pm game to catch there!!! We got to the airport, where I surprised her with a First Class seat upgrade. How's that for cool! We got to sit together for a couple of hours...making each other laugh, and talking about the important things. Work. Family. Friends. Life.
We checked in to our hotel (thank you @SPG Four Points for taking care of me all these years!) and rested a bit before heading out again. This time, to #OCo (is that the hashtag for Oakland Coleseum?). Everything just worked. We got salads for dinner, there was hardly any traffic, we found a great parking spot, and we were in our seats in time to watch the boys warm up.

Of course, I bring books wherever I go. And, as fate would have it I met a woman who works for a data analytics company sitting behind me. Our ah-ha: Companies do all kinds of learning and training, but they don't do measurement on the before/after sides of implementation. We exchanged info, I got her card, she got the book!
All in all, it was a great trip. This morning we got to spend some time together over coffee...

...before I got on the BART train, to take a flight, to get on a shuttle, to hire a driver, to get me home to @JodiWomack.
How's all THAT for amazing!
